Historical Confirmations of Healing Rings

The following was an email I received from a student who attended my advanced class. I wrote her this after receiving the email:
"I really enjoyed reading these church history stories. They have a familiar ring, for sure! I had heard of some of these but never connected them at all to the energy work that I had experienced. I now believe it is all from the same source, which is the healing power from God."

Here is the email:

Dear Rick,

Thank you for organizing this class. I look forward to meeting you, too! My mentor in Wyoming has also seen rings of fire like you speak of.

You might be interested in hearing a story from church history. It is from Philo Dibble, who wrote what follows below (the added emphasis is mine.)

Philo Dibble
“After the surgeon had left me, Brother Newell Knight came to see me, and sat down on the side of my bed. He laid his right hand on my head, but never spoke. I felt the Spirit resting upon me at the crown of my head before his hand touched me, and I knew immediately that I was going to be healed. It seemed to form like a ring under the skin, and followed down my body. When the ring came to the wound, another ring formed around the first bullet hole, also the second and third. Then a ring formed on each shoulder and on each hip, and followed down to the ends of my fingers and toes and left me. I immediately across and discharged three quarts of blood or more, with some pieces of clothes that had been driven into my body by the bullets. I then, dressed myself and went out doors and saw the falling of the stars, which so encouraged the Saints and frightened their enemies. It was one of the grandest sights I ever beheld. From that time not a drop of blood came from me and I never afterwards felt the slightest pain or inconvenience from my wounds, except that I was somewhat weak from the loss of blood.” (Philo Dibble’s Narrative 1806-1895, Chapter 2)]

Similarly, there are other stories of interest to me such as the following examples.

“The angel again touched the top of my head, and I again experienced the same sensation as when I left my body, but without any pain. The angel next took hold of my hands, and I felt as if an electric current passed through my fingers, hands, arms, and finally reached my lungs, and I could feel for half an hour how my lungs grew and expanded. All pains left me, and I spoke to my father, who had thought me dead all the time I had been away in the spirit world.” (C.C.A. Christenson, Latter-day Saints’ Millenial Star; vol. 55, 27 Feb. 1893, 150-151)

Lorenzo Snow
Lorenzo Snow:
“Immediately the Spirit of God descended upon me, filling me from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, and O the joy and happiness I felt! No language can describe the instantaneous transition from a dense cloud of mental and spiritual darkness into a refulgence of light and knowledge, as it was at that time imparted to my understanding.” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church - Lorenzo Snow, p 61)

Elder F. Enzio Busche:
“I prayed with all the energy of my heart, ‘Father, fill my soul with love.’ I cried from the depths of my being… It was as if my skull was opened and a warm feeling poured down into my soul - down my head, my neck, my chest. As it was pouring down, it drove out all of the fear.” (Yearning For the Living God, 270-27)

I suspect there are also several NDE’s that mention the crown of the head. Two come to mind just now. Visions of Glory speaks of a point at the crown of our head where our spiritual energy may open as does medical doctor George Ritchie’s book Return From Tomorrow. I bet there are others I would love to know about! Thank you again.
